Our Disney Cruise :: Day 1 - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

Our Disney Cruise :: Day 1

by - Thursday, May 11, 2017

Yesterday I shared about our day in Port Canaveral & today I am sharing all the things ... from us leaving our hotel to our first night on the ship!! 😃

We are SO ready to plan our next one, y'all!
Friday we didn't have to be at the port until 10:30 that morning so Dan went & got us all breakfast before we headed out.

My sister-in-love made all of our shirts & we couldn't love them more.  And yep, we were those people who had matching shirts & our names on them! 😉

On the shuttle on our way to our SHIP!!! Eeeeek! Btw, I'll probably say that 342 times between all the posts.
Ready to board!

The check-in process was a breeze compared to other cruises we have been on.  Disney really has it together & made everything super easy!

And we are on the ship!!!

While boarding, they ask for your family's last name & announce your family as you are coming in!
We weren't on the ship 5 minutes & found Rapunzel!
Whhhhhat!?!
We packed our swim suits in our carry ons since our room wouldn't be ready until later.
We headed to the buffet for lunch & then went to the pool.  Cooper rode the AquaDuck (the big waterslide) over ... and over ... and over!
I mean how often do you get to swim & watch Frozen on a huge TV ... at the same time!?!

We went to our room later that afternoon & to our surprise our luggage was waiting outside of our door!
We joined the Pixie Dust list & made this little door hanger for our surprises to go in.  We also made magnets to go on our door!
Before we could set sail we had to go learn all about life vest safety.
During the safety meeting I look down & see Millie Jo sitting straight up swaying back and forth ... girlfriend had fallen asleep!!
Sailing away!! 😃

Once we freshened up for dinner, we headed to dinner & on our way met ....
Mickey!
And Minnie!
And Tiana!
Waiting for dinner ...
Our first night we had dinner at the Royal Palace.
Our waiter, Branko, was incredible & my kiddos LOVED him!

After dinner we went & watched the show, The Golden Mickey's.  AMAZING!  And then ... we went & watched the new Beauty and the Beast in 3D!  What I saw was SO good.  Cooper, Millie Jo & I fell asleep during it.  In our defense it didn't start until 11 o'clock that night!  HA!!

And that was day 1 on the Disney Dream!!

Tomorrow I will share day two!

  3. Hey! It looks like you guys had a blast! I am in the middle of planning a surprise trip for my two boys for next year. We are looking to take my grandmother with us. Did all five of you stay in the same stateroom and if so, did that work out okay?

    1. Yes girl! We had the verandah so it had a balcony. It had the queen bed, the couch bed, a bed that came out of the ceiling (seriously) & then another bed beside the sliding glass door. It was very spacious. If you choose to go with separate rooms, they do make adjoining ones! Honestly, you don't spend much time in the room! :)

    2. Thanks girl! We have decided to share a verandah stateroom! I am so excited and cannot wait to tell our two boys at Christmas Time. How did you make your fish extender? It is so cute! I am looking into doing that as well.
