Front Porch Reveal - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

Front Porch Reveal

by - Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Hey there, Wednesday!

I mentioned on Monday that over the weekend we finally finished our front porch.  Granted we did use pressure treated wood & it has to dry out for about six weeks before you can paint or stain it ... at least that's what we were told :).  But, today I am going to share it with you & I am super excited about it! I was hoping to have it all decorated for fall before I shared it but I just haven't gotten around to putting all of my fall décor out yet.

Here is a before picture . . .
It was just the 2x4s & spindles but most of the spindles were either cracked or had come loose.

So we started from scratch . . .
Yep, my hubby put me to work ;).
And do you see the white columns we left up?
My hubby boxed them in & made bigger columns.
I love the character it gives it!

Almost finished!
We actually got the idea of the x's instead of spindles from our friends that live right down the street from us.  When I saw theirs, I just loved it so much!  They just finished painting theirs white & it looks so good!

And here is the new look!
Drum roll please . . .

Instead of painting it we decided to stain it.
Ah, I love it so much!

I just made my welcome sign yesterday ... & it may or may not have only cost me $8!  Score for already having paint, stencils & the burlap bow :).

I am so stinking proud of my hubby for building this! He already has his next project figured out, too!  Barn door shutters ... Can anyone say pinspired!?! HA!  It really will complete the look though!

And now I can't wait to finish decorating it!

Have a wonderful day!
