Ruthie Belle's Day {2016} - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

Ruthie Belle's Day {2016}

by - Tuesday, November 15, 2016

As most of you know, back in March we thought we would be welcoming another beautiful baby into our home come October 29th or there about.  But, in May we lost our sweet Ruthie Belle.  I blog about her often & on October 29, 2016 we celebrated her just as we would have if it would have really been her birthday.

Today I am sharing with you how we celebrated her sweet little life.

And if you missed my post on her due date, you can read it here.  I have to tell you, I wasn't sure I was going to post anything at all that day but when I woke up & had it on my heart I just knew that I wanted to share.
This is what I woke up to the morning of October 29th.
My babies snuggled up close to me sound asleep.
God knew I needed that.

After we all woke up we laid in bed just talking & the first thing Millie Jo said was "know what today is? 'Rufie' Belle's birfday!!" And the birthday song started :).

One of our most favorite spots to go is up to Blowing Rock, NC.  It has a park that our kiddos love, shops, great restaurants & it's just really beautiful.  So once we got up & moving, we headed up that way.  We had no clue that it was the weekend of their Halloween festival which was perfect because they had SO much fun stuff for the kiddos to do!

But Coop was just fine doing this all day ...
Playing football with his daddy.
And this girl just wanted to swing, slide, run, cross the monkey bars, repeat.
I love, love, love this man.
He & I have gotten through so much together & I am just forever grateful for him.  We have never nor will we ever take credit for the healing that has taken place in our lives.  We give all the glory & praise to God because without Him, we would be nothing!
These three.
The weather was absolutely perfect.
I love my people & their sweet baby sister!
We usually go to the Kilwin's in downtown Blowing Rock but the line was all the way out the door down the sidewalk so we headed to another one near by.

Millie Jo was loving this tiny table that was "just for her" :).

We all got ice cream & we got Ruthie Belle a white chocolate covered rice Krispy treat with sprinkles ...
& these two sang Happy Birthday to her.  How could I not let them?!
Love my Coop Coop!
And my Queenie Queen :).

After our sweet treat we jumped on the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the scenery.
How I ever got blessed to be the mama to 3 beautiful babes I will never know but I thank God so much for them!
I lift my eyes unto the hills ... where does my help come from? ... My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven & Earth.

This day was hard.  Maybe the toughest yet.
But as I stood at this very spot looking out across the mountains, I couldn't help but tear up several times just thinking about how good God is.  Did I think this specific day would have looked a lot different back in March, yes but this day was still so beautiful to me.

The three request Cooper & Millie Jo had for this day were ...
1.  Get Ruthie Belle a cupcake (or sweet treat).
2.  Sing Happy Birthday to her.
3.  Send her balloons so she can celebrate in Heaven.

By the time we got home from the mountains it was already dark so we decided we would do balloons at the park at sunset the next day ... I mean, she does take after her mama & big sister ... we celebrate our birthdays for like a week!

I am so glad we waited because the sky was just amazing that next evening with the perfect touch of pink in it.
Happy Birthday, Ruthie Belle.
One blessed mama & daddy to three sweet babies!

This day started a new tradition for us.
October 29th will forever be known as Ruthie Belle's day & we love the thought of that!
