Dining Room Makeover & Fall Decor Home Tour
Happy Monday!
Since I took the month of October off from blogging I never gave you a home tour of my Fall décor nor did I ever share with you our dining/living room/foyer makeover, so today I am doing just that. And since my house is now decorated for Christmas, I thought I better do it before I do my Christmas décor tour!
First up, all of the before pictures . . .
The dining room started off as this color. I did not hate it but I just wanted something different so we went with a more gray/blue color.
See the buffet?!? We painted it a distressed white, stained 2x4's & made them as the top of it.
I am obsessed!
Next on our list is our farm house table & I have a new light to hang.
You will also see in my after pictures that we built a cornice to go above the back door. Love the look it gave it!
We got rid of the china cabinet & built a small table & hung shelves above it.
The living room/foyer was a little bit of blue, yellow, tan & red. It wasn't bad but I wanted to brighten it up some & I'm so glad I did ... even though I was extremely nervous to do so!

My dining room table is one of my most favorite things to decorate for any season.
The glitter pumpkins are from Hobby Lobby, the beautiful flowers were delivered to me on Ruthie Belle's due date & the lantern is from Home Depot. I feel like everyone should own at least a lantern or 5 ... I mean, they are so cute filled with different things!
Oh this door. I love it so much!
It had old paint chipping off of it but I ... yes, I ... sanded it down & painted chalk board paint on it & there you have it ;).
Remember the red wall behind the TV??? Yep, it's gone!
There's just something about freshly painted walls.
And that blanket ladder. My hubby nailed it with that for sure! You should see it beside my big fat Christmas tree now!
Excuse me while I brag on my hubby once again . . .
but this bench y'all! He built that!!
It's exactly what I wanted & it may just be my most favorite place in my house. It finished the foyer off perfectly.

It's from Hobby Lobby last year.
I found that little ghost cookie jar at a yard sale several years ago & it's one of my kiddos' favorite things during the Fall.
Our front porch looked SO good decorated this year with our pumpkins, welcome sign that I made & the pumpkin sign that a friend & her mom made for me. I'm still loving the way the porch turned out so much after remodeling it.

We did all the home improvements ourselves & I think it's safe to say that we were definitely not meant to be painters. Goodness gracious, that's a hard job! But we sure are loving 'making a house our home'!
