What's Up Wednesday :: January

by - Thursday, January 28, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Mel from The Larson Lingo, Sheaffer from Pinterest Told Me To & Shay from The Mix and Match Mama blog for the first What's Up Wednesday of 2016 :).

Here's the questions we answer ...
Here we go!

1. What we're eating this week ...

So, a few weeks ago I decided to prep/freeze my meals for two weeks at a time & see how I liked it.  Well, I LOVED it!!  I started out with chicken because I was told that making all those meals can be pretty overwhelming.  It was so nice just throwing our meal in my slow cooker each morning, letting it cook all day & then eating when Dan got home from work.  This is something I will be doing often & Pinterest has some great ideas!

This was one of my personal favs ...
Chicken Broccoli Alfredo

Ingredients :
1 1/2 pounds of chicken breast
1 (16 oz) bag frozen broccoli florets
2 (16 oz) jars Alfredo sauce
3-4 cups of pasta depending on family size

I added all of my ingredients into the slow cooker except for the pasta.  I let it cook on low for 6 hours & cooked the pasta separately right before dinner & added it with the rest of the ingredients before it was served.

It was amazing & super easy!

2. What I'm reminiscing about ...
Oh .. my .. heart!
Valentine's Day 2013
{Cooper, 2 & Millie Jo 3 weeks}

3. What I'm loving ...
I found this sign at Hobby Lobby today & I just love it!
I put it in mine & Dan's bedroom.
Perfect little reminder :).

4. What we've been up to ...
Snow, snow & more snow!

5. What I'm dreading ...

Millie Jo's 3 year check up (she doesn't like the doctor at all) & I have to schedule her first dentist appointment.  I don't even want to think about how that is going to go. Sigh.

6. What I'm working on ...

My kitchen.
I started with my pantry door ...

The door was white up until 2 days ago.
When I get my mind set on something I want it done & done right then.  I painted it & then took sand paper to it to give it a somewhat distressed look.
I found a board laying in the garage & used it for my "grocery" sign.
I love the way everything turned out!
The wall you see to the left is getting ready to be filled up with different pieces of wall art, too!

7. What I'm excited about ...
These!
I mean, how cute are they!?!?
I have a friend who is making these with her daughter, along with lots more cute stuff!
Check out their Facebook page ... Made With Love BK.
You will love it!

8. What I'm watching/reading ...
Well, of course the Bachelor!

I just finished this book ...
If I were to ever meet Al & Lisa Robertson I would hug their necks & thank them for writing this.
God used them big time.
I'm 100% sure that this book was not easy to write but they did & they were completely open & honest about everything.  I have so much respect for them & I've never even met them!
I encourage you, if you've ever had bad times in your life & think you've hit the lowest of the low ... read this book.  It is so encouraging.
Their story is just amazing!

9. What I'm listening to ...

Just the sound of my fan going :).
Other than that my house is quiet.

10. What I'm wearing ...
This scarf, y'all.
I've shared it before but it was worth sharing again!
I've never loved a scarf more than this one.
You can find it here.
Lots of colors to choose from, too!

11. What I'm doing this weekend ...
My kiddos asked us earlier this week if we could have a bonfire one night so this weekend we're doing just that!

12. What am I looking forward to next month ...
Grammy turns 50!
She may not be looking forward to it but I'm so thankful for her life & love birthdays!!
{Btw, I pray that I'm as beautiful as she is when I'm getting ready to be 50!!}

13. What else is new ...

Nothing that I haven't mentioned!

That's it for our first What's Up Wednesday of 2016!

  1. Isn't Hobby Lobby the best place to get fun things to decorate with?! I hope the doctor appointment goes well. If you are a Daniel Tiger fan, they have an episode all about visiting the doctor that might help too! :)
