Ruthie Belle's Day {2017}

If you've been reading my blog for the past year & a half then you know who she is & what she means to our family. We lost her due to a late miscarriage in May 2016 at 15 weeks pregnant. Her due date was October 29, 2016. Last year my hubby, kiddos & I decided to start a new tradition for that day & call it "Ruthie Belle Day". Every year on that day we send balloons to Heaven, get a sweet treat & sing Happy Birthday to her.
It's just something that means so much to my little family!
I'd be lying if I said yesterday wasn't a hard day because it was.
I woke up before the sun even came up, snuggled next to Dan & got my big cry out before Cooper & Millie Jo could see me. They had been talking about "Ruthie Belle Day" since last week & were excited to celebrate her ... I didn't want them to be sad.
We spent our weekend away in the mountains but when we got home yesterday afternoon, we headed to get the stuff we needed to celebrate. This year Cooper & Millie Jo picked an individual piece of cake (chocolate for Coop & rainbow for Millie Jo) & they each picked a number one candle.
And then we headed to the park . . .
It was SO cold & windy but we didn't let that stop us!
Of course we had to play at the playground for a few minutes before we went home.
I love their laughs & smiles.
And yesterday I really needed them.

DeleteI can't even begin to imagine the pain of a miscarriage but I definitely empathize. I think it's a beautiful tradition.
