Oh Baby!

Hello October!
You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Y'all, I have missed you!  SO much has happened since my last blog post & I can't wait to catch you up on everything.  But first thing is first!  Just incase you missed my Instagram post last week & have been wondering where I've been . . .
Eeeeek!

We are having a baby! ... And I'm well into the second trimester.

You've been faithful, You've been good all of my days .. Jesus, I will cling to You come what may .. 'Cause I know You're able .. I know You can. - Even If by Mercy Me

After our late miscarriage last year, Dan & I weren't sure if we would try for another baby.  The heartache of losing one of your children is real & we just didn't know if that chapter of our lives was going to be closed or not.  God knew that it wasn't finished.

On July 17th, we found out that we were adding one more to our perfectly imperfect family!

I was only 5 weeks pregnant when we found out & I just knew it was the calm before the storm & boy was I right!  The day I hit 6 weeks, the morning sickness hit like a dern wrecking ball.  If you've been following my blog for some time, then you know that with EVERY SINGLE pregnancy, I get severe morning sickness.  Like I literally go into survival mode.  What a rough & L O N G few weeks that was.  SO very thankful to be past that part even though some days, I still get sick.  I'll take once every few days over 5+ times a day any day!

I'm still waiting on that magical second trimester burst of energy everyone talks about ... but I've almost convinced myself that already having two busy kiddos, I will be tired for pretty much forever! 😉  And I can definitely tell I'm almost thirty years old with this baby & NOT twenty like I was with Cooper!

*Bump update*

Baby is the size of an avocado!

How far along?  16 weeks
Sleep?  When I'm not getting up to use the bathroom!
Movement?  Oh my heart!  I felt this sweet baby for the first time last week & it's pretty much the greatest feeling ever.
Craving?  Any kind of soup, salad, Mountain Dew (who am I?? I'm not a caffeine drinker!), & decaf iced mochas. Give me a brownie or ice cream though & I throw up.
Morning sickness?  Some nausea but not anything like it was a few weeks ago!
Baby bump?  Oh the bump is definitely there.
Dreams?  CRAZY ones.

We find out in a couple weeks if this sweet thing is a boy or girl & we can't wait!  Of course Cooper just knows it's a boy & Millie Jo just knows it's a girl. 😉  Speaking of the big brother & big sister, they have known since the very beginning of my pregnancy that I was pregnant & they kept the secret until we announced.  They are both so stinkin' excited!  Poor Cooper was so worried about me at first.  Before we sat them down & told them, he would call me into his room at night & ask me if I was ok because he heard me throwing up.  He said he knew before we even told them that I was having a baby. Millie Jo kisses my belly all the time & will rub it & say "oh mommy, it's just so sweet."
 And this man of mine.
A rock star.
For weeks I would go from the bed to the couch to hugging the toilet back to the couch then back to bed & he did it ALL.  From working his full time job to taking care of our kiddos to cooking dinner to cleaning the house to doing all the laundry to getting Cooper to & from school.  I mean EVERYTHING & he never once complained.  Was he exhausted?? Heck yea, but he never once asked me to do anything.  The only thing he asked me to do was to take care of myself & our baby.

I'm telling you, he's a rock star.

And I want to thank each & everyone of you who have reached out whether it be via text, phone call, email, DM or Facebook.  I have seen every single one of your messages & appreciate you more than you will ever know!  Your prayers are definitely being felt!

I can't wait for y'all to follow along with our journey!
