MILLIE JO GOES TO KINDERGARTEN - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

MILLIE JO GOES TO KINDERGARTEN

by - Monday, August 27, 2018

Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with this post.

I tucked you in last night … and today, you're a KINDERGARTENER.

I am going to miss your cute little bed head self in your pjs, with your blankie, climbing in the car to take Cooper to school every morning.  Instead, a cute outfit will take place of those pjs,  a bookbag will take place of your blankie & well, I can't make any promises on the bed head part because I know how much you love to have your hair brushed but I'm sure you will have a bow or headband in.

I will miss you asking from the backseat after drop off what we are doing for the day.  Instead, I will drive back home in the quiet [until your baby sister starts talking] wondering what you are doing & then will pick you up later that afternoon & you will tell me all about what you did that day.

I'm going to miss you waiting by the front door in the mornings for Mr. Carter, our mailman, so you can run outside to get the mail before he even has a chance to put it in the mailbox.

I'm going to miss those mid morning makeovers you love to give me.

I'm going to miss our early morning naps on the couch while watching a movie because "mommmmm, you "waked" me up too early."

I will miss my little sidekick.

You've been by my side since day one.

We didn't even do a trial run with preschool.

I laid beside you last night & the only thing that ran through my mind was the day you were born.  It feels like yesterday.  I still can't believe you were almost nine pounds.  These past five years have flown by.  I can remember thinking when you were a baby that I had plenty of time … school was SO far away.

Yes, today was hard … & maybe even the next couple weeks will be, but there is no doubt in my mind that you are going to rock kindergarten.  You never cease to amaze me.  You love to learn and you are so determined at everything you do.  You have the sweetest spirit & you love to make friends.

I know that you are ready … even though selfishly, I'm not ready to let you go.

I walked you in this morning & the big hug you gave me before I left, I felt us both try to hold on.

My prayer for you is that you always let the light of Jesus shine through you.  Don't ever be afraid to call on Him.  And don't ever be afraid to tell others about His love.

God has BIG plans for your life, my sweet girl!

A few weeks ago, we had a girls day.  We went to dinner, got dessert & went school shopping!  I told her she could pick any back to school outfit she wanted without my help …
And this is the outfit she picked out all on her own!
