OUR DAY TRIP TO GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN! - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

OUR DAY TRIP TO GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN!

by - Thursday, May 28, 2020

Two Sunday's ago, the five of us packed a picnic & went for a drive up to the mountains.  We had some celebrating to do with Dan finishing his first year of college!
One of our most favorite things to do is to find a creek to play in & have a picnic!
My heart, I love them!!
Can someone please tell me when she grew up!?!  Wasn't she just my 8lb 11oz baby girl!?!

On our drive up to the mountains, Ellie Joy learned how to make this face & it is still making all of us laugh!
We were not mad at all about these views while eating lunch.
After our picnic, we stopped to find a bathroom before getting back on the Blue Ridge Parkway ...
To head to GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN.  It was BEAUTIFUL!  Dan & I haven't been up there since we were dating so going back was a lot of fun!
And I am so proud of Cooper … & Dan 😉 … for going across the bridge!
If you know, you know.
I mean, this view & all my babes!
Itty Bitty, in true Itty Bitty fashion, tried throwing her shoes off the bridge.  So there's that.
Not only are the views beautiful, but there is also a small zoo that is apart of Grandfather Mountain so we were able to do that, too!

Millie Jo was so excited to see that the bear habitat was named Mildred the Bear.  Mildred was my maw-maw's name & that's where we got the name Millie from!
They even handed out this Junior Rangers booklet to the kiddos to write down all the stuff they saw & learned.  After they completed it, they received this badge!  See, we got this home school life thing all under control.
We are so proud of you, Dan!
I love this life with you & all of our adventures!
