Friday Favorites {Family Date Edition}

Happy Friday!!

Today I'm linking up with Erika, Narci & Andrea for a little Friday Favorites & I'm doing it a little differently than I normally do!

We had a family date day on Saturday & it was hands down one of my favorite ones yet.

So today I'm telling you all about it!

On Monday's post I mentioned very briefly that Dan & I took our kiddos on a date & that I would share more later this week.

So here we are :).

There is nothing I love more than spending time with my sweet little family.

Dan & I have been trying to figure out something special to do with our kiddos so that they could remember our baby. Well, we finally thought of the perfect thing for them . . . something that they would love so much. So on Saturday we surprised them & headed to Build-A-Bear Workshop to let them build a bear. The special part?!? We recorded their sweet baby brother/sister's heartbeat & put it inside their animal. Now anytime they start to miss him/her they can hug their bear {pig for Millie Jo} & hear our baby's heart. They were so excited & haven't put them down yet. They even went to the mountains with us on Sunday. I love catching them hugging & listening to them.

Before going to their surprise we had lunch at our favorite Cajun restaurant, Razzoo's.

Love my guys so much.

Cooper chose Captain America & Millie Jo, Peppa Pig.

We all agreed that our baby would love them both.

I love the part where they hold the heart & make a wish.

I was thinking they were going to wish for something sweet ... Coop wished for a weed eater.

After Build-a-Bear we headed to get dessert.

Give us all the Cinnabons. We love them!

Then we headed home.

My boy walked around holding my hand all day & I loved every second of it!

Saturday was a sweet one & one that we will remember forever.

Family Picnic

Hello Thursday!

Sunday morning our family, including my in-loves, headed up to Blowing Rock, NC for a picnic. When we got there the weather was chilly, mostly because the wind was blowing so much, but it soon warmed up a little & we had a blast.

We set up our chairs & blankets when we got there & then ate lunch.

Fried chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, biscuits, mashed potatoes/gravy, chocolate cake AND cookies. Now that is my kind of picnic!

This was all their idea & I must say, it was a pretty great one!

After lunch, it was time to play . . .

There was a lot of running, turning flips, blowing dandelions, picking flowers, playing tag & hide -n- seek.

There was a creek next to our picnic area & we didn't let the cooler weather stop us from playing in it.

Growing up I had a creek behind my house & that's where you could always find me, my sister & brother. So playing in the creek Sunday made me feel like a kid again!

If you know Millie Jo then you know she loves the water.

The creek water was no different ... she loved it. In fact, she asked me one time if she could lay down & swim in it. I only said no because it was freezing!!

All the guys took a trial to go see it while the girls hung out at the picnic area.

Once they got back from their little adventure we played a little bit longer then packed up & headed to downtown Blowing Rock. They have little shops but most importantly a park that Millie Jo just couldn't wait to get to so she could swing! :)
