Happy Monday!!

It's a S N O W day for us today!  It started snowing Saturday night & it was still snowing this morning!
Eeeek!

What is it about snow that just makes you slow down!?!  I love it!

On Saturday we headed up the mountain to Bryson City for the Polar Express train ride.  Mimi & Paw-Paw treated all the grandbabies to it this year & y'all, it was SO much fun!
We left that morning & stopped for coffee before we got too far up the road.
And my kiddos weren't excited at all!

It even snowed on the way up there!

Riding the Polar Express in the snow!?!
Yes, please!

About 30 minutes out, we met up with my in-loves for lunch before we headed to the train station.
And all the grandbabies had matching pjs!
When we got there, we had a little time to kill so we walked around the gift shop & waited until it was time to board the train.
Cooper's pjs had a truck with a tree on it while the girl's had cute little Christmas trees & their names.  I just don't think Mr. Under Armour Coop wanted his name on his.  HA!
The "chefs" sang the Hot Chocolate song from the movie & brought everyone hot chocolate & a cookie!
And then …
 We saw SANTA!!
 And he handed out bells!
Our family has grown so much since the first time we came when Cooper was Ellie Joy's age!!
We made it to the North Pole!
The train ride was an hour & 15 minutes.
That was plenty enough time with seven kiddos … five of those being under 2 years old!

We grabbed dinner before we headed back home & that was a HUGE mistake because by the time we got on the road [two hours from home] the snow was SO bad!  In case you didn't know, I don't do the whole driving in the snow thing … especially going down a mountain.  A few years ago, Dan & I went on a weekend getaway to TN, slid on ice & flipped his truck on its side off of an embankment.  Nope.  Never again.
So you can only imagine the panic attack I was having when we had to drive down mountain roads that looked like this.

I am completely aware that people drive in much worse than this but not in NC where I am from!  When it snows in our town, everyone stays home!
We FINALLY made it home & thankfully these two slept all the way home.
Our two hour drive turned into a three hour drive.
And to say that I am so thankful to be at home safe & sound would be an understatement!

BUT, we had a blast on the Polar Express!
If you've never experienced it, you need to!

Thank you so much, Mimi & Paw-Paw!
