The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

ELLIE JOY IS FOUR!

by Whitney Pegram - Wednesday, March 02, 2022

Happy Wednesday!

I'm taking a break from sharing our Disney trip today to share all about this girl's 4th birthday!

My itty bitty girl turned 4 last Thursday & I can't believe she only has one more year at home with me until she starts school!

The week before her birthday, we were in Florida so our last day at Magic Kingdom, we celebrated her. It was such a fun day & every cast member who saw her told her happy birthday .. not only them, but all the princesses when they came by during the parade. Every little girl's dream! It was the best day for sure!

This girl is full of JOY ...

And just a little bit of sass 😉

The morning of her birthday, we met Mimi & my niece at Chick-fil-A for lunch.

And then that evening, we celebrated her with her favorite Krispy Kreme donuts ... strawberry sprinkles!

Then on Saturday morning, we met my sister at the mall for a little birthday shopping!

And Starbucks!

Later that night we went out for BBQ with the whole crew!

Happy 4th Birthday, my beautiful girl!

Never forget whose you are!

DISNEY PART TWO : ANIMAL KINGDOM

by Whitney Pegram - Tuesday, March 01, 2022

Happy March, friends!

Can you even believe it!?!

Last week, I shared PART ONE of our Disney trip we took a couple weeks ago so if you missed it, make sure you check it out! I'm back today to share Part two .. our day at Animal Kingdom! And it was a cold one .. like 50 degrees cold & so windy!

I don't want to be a Debby downer, but I always want to be honest with y'all ... Animal Kingdom wasn't my favorite. Don't hate me! Don't get me wrong, there are super cool things to see .. like the Tree of Life .. just incredible .. BUT, there's just not SO much to do & I feel like for that reason wait times are forrrrrrever.

When we arrived, we headed straight to the Safari ride. We were told that the animals are more active in the morning & for that reason, we did get to see most all of them!

We did the Photo Memory Maker & I will say, it is WELL worth the money. I didn't have to worry so much about taking my own pictures because there are many photographers all around each park that take them!

And this girl hammed it up every chance she got.

Let's talk about her Minnie ear clips. Best invention ever! I knew going into our trip that she wouldn't keep a headband on the entire time so I found THE CUTEST HAIR CLIPS ON ETSY! They stayed on perfectly for all the rides, too.

It happened to be Valentine's Day the day we were at Animal Kingdom & I ordered me & my girls these matching shirts from ETSY!

I mean!

I love them!

And my boys!

Their shirts are from TARGET!

The park does have really good food though & I definitely recommend the grilled corn on the cob from Harambe Fruit Market.

We made reservations at the Rainforest Cafe for dinner that night & all the kiddos loved it.

After dinner, we headed to Dinoland. If you go with younger children, I would start in this area. By the time we finished dinner & made our way there, we didn't have much time before the park closed.

After we rode the Triceratops, we rode Dinosaur. Ellie Joy rode it & wasn't scared at all, but the girl loves all things dinosaurs. It's dark in there & has lots of dinosaurs so just keep that in mind before you ride!

We ended the night watching the light show & it was amazing!

Don't NOT go to Animal Kingdom just because I didn't care so much for it as far as the rides go. We still had a wonderful day! So many people love the park!

DISNEY PART ONE : MAGIC KINGDOM

by Whitney Pegram - Tuesday, February 22, 2022

Happy Tuesday, friends!

We got home from Disney on Saturday night after our 8 1/2 hour drive turned into 12 1/2 hours due to traffic. Goodness it was a long day! But y'all, our trip was SO much fun!!

We headed to Florida on Friday before last when Dan got home from work. We drove about five hours to Jacksonville & stayed the night there so we could rest up to finish the drive on Saturday.

And when we passed through Daytona Beach, we got to experience Buc-ee's for the first time! And I'm here to tell you that it was everything everyone says it is ... amazing!

We arrived at the house we were staying in Saturday afternoon, settled in, & rested up for our first day at the park!

First up, Magic Kingdom!

Since we didn't stay at a Disney resort, we drove to the parks each day & parked. I would recommend staying on site for the park transportation & not having to pay to park. Parking each day was $25 & preferred parking was $45. We had a group of 17 so it just made more sense for us to stay in a house together rather than staying on site this trip.

We parked & took the ferry over to the entrance of Magic Kingdom!

This trip was a Christmas present from Mimi & Paw-Paw & we are so thankful!

We headed to Adventureland first & I definitely recommend the Jungle Cruise!

And then head to the Magic Carpet ride!

Ellie Joy's shirt couldn't be more perfect for her! She ate all the snacks, all the time! And if you know her, then you know her favorite saying is "Please? Make me so happy!"

During the 50th anniversary they have golden statues & these two were so excited to find "Pooney the Bear" 😉

After Adventureland, we headed to Frontierland where we rode Splash Mountain. We rode this twice & it was a favorite for sure! Big Mountain Railroad is also so much fun!
