How God Saved Our Marriage : Introduction - The Perfectly Imperfect Mama

How God Saved Our Marriage : Introduction

Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.
Mark 10:9

This verse is one of our very favorites and we both agreed that it would be the perfect scripture to go along with this marriage series we are starting.

.....

We are Daniel and Whitney Pegram and we can't wait to share our story with you of how God saved our marriage.  We have been married for almost nine years and we have four children : Cooper (7), Millie Jo (5), Ruthie Belle (our angel) and Ellie Joy (due in March).  Daniel (you will hear me refer to him as Dan) is a manager of a company and because of the hard worker that he is, I have the privilege of being a stay-at-home mama and raising our sweet kiddos.  I am currently almost 32 weeks pregnant with baby number four and we couldn't be more excited!

Several months ago, we started praying about beginning this marriage series and after much prayer we felt led to share.  For the longest time, Dan did not want to discuss our personal business in fear that someone would think differently of me.  He has always wanted to protect my heart through everything even though he never had to.  And trust me when I say, that most spouses would not in a situation like ours.  We both know that this is not something that we can just keep to ourselves. God didn't just allow us to go through something so heartbreaking in our marriage to experience the heartache, He intended on using us.  In this series, you will find out that what we went through was something that was meant to destroy our marriage.  However, by the end of our story, you will see just how good and powerful God is.

Sharing something so personal can be and will be very hard and embarrassing but throughout this entire series we will both be very open and honest with you ... during the good, the bad and the very ugly.  It is not our purpose to talk about anyone else that was involved.  We are simply here to share how God mended our marriage and how only a mighty Savior like Him could restore something so broken.  We do not live a fairy tale life nor do we pretend to.  There is no such thing as a perfect marriage and we will be very real with you throughout our story.  If you have been married for any amount of time at all, then you know that it can be hard at times.

Our prayer for this series is that if anyone is reading this and their marriage is struggling, that you know that no marriage is ever too broken that God can't restore it.  We also pray that you will learn through our story that there is hope even when you feel like there is none.

We hope that you will join us every Wednesday for the next nine weeks as we share with you something that only God can do.

If there is anything we can pray for you about, please feel free to email us at whitpegram@gmail.com

  2. I look forward to reading your posts on this subject. My husband and I have been married 15 years. The first ten were tough. It wasn't until we both put God in the center of our lives 5 years ago that it became so much better.
